Hollywood heavyweight Matthew McConaughey took on a starring role as a tourist on Tuesday, enjoying some sightseeing at the Sydney Opera House with his son.
The Dallas Buyers Club star was spotted dining at Bennelong restaurant with his Levi, 11, before the casually dressed father-and-son duo did some sightseeing — and a bit of shopping — around Circular Quay.
Wild Turkey ambassador McConaughey is in town for the brand’s With Thanks campaign.
He also recently joined forces with Aussie twin brothers Cam and Chris Grant, whose travel start-up has created a chain of eco tourism cabins.
McConaughey, 50, will unveil The Reserve cabin which he designed, before it is moved into the NSW bush and later opened for public bookings from December.
The actor recently raved about Australia, after having previously lived Down Under for a year when he was younger. “Australia has always had a special place in my heart,” he said.
“I lived there for a year out of high school and have worked there many times making movies.
“Whether it’s the outback, the Barrier Reef, or the farms on the Central Coast, I’ve enjoyed the natural beauties of Australia for years.”
