Sydney bachelor John Singleton is doing nothing to hose down rumours that he has designs to win over Sky News host Erin Molan.
The 40-year-old radio host and presenter was spotted kicking on at Shell House cocktail bar in Sydney’s CBD with Singleton, after she appeared as a panellist at the Mercedes-Benz Sydney Women in Business Lunch on Wednesday.
Molan left the boozy long lunch in Eveleigh with her friends, socialite Hollie Nasser and columnist Jana Hocking.
The trio of blondes exited the event about 3pm and travelled to the cocktail bar for a few more rounds, where they met up with Molan’s 2 Day FM co-host Hughsey, and Singleton.
This comes after The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday revealed the seven-times divorced millionaire lavished Molan with a share in a $700,000 prize filly he’s named after her.
Singleton’s executive assistant on Tuesday said that he was unable to comment over the phone but only in writing because he was “travelling.”
“The hottest women in Australia right now, that get written about, talked about — they’re over 40. And that’s an incredible thing,” Molan said on Wednesday.
“If you look at every woman that is papped right now, 90 per cent of them would be over 40.
“It’s not something we should be grateful for but it goes to show that you don’t lose your worth as you get older. We’re the worst perpetuators of that myth,” she said to the crowd of women.
“I just turned 40. I have never had more men persuing me than I have now, as a 40-year-old single mother who’s sucking in her f**king stomach.”
“It’s not John Singleton,” she joked. Although: “He’s divine, I love him.”
Sydney socialite Hollie Nasser has only rarely made public appearances since 2021, when she was embroiled in the dual marriage breakdown that scandalised Sydney society.
The psychologist was formerly the best friend of Ellie Aitken, one half of the much feted finance glamour couple Charlie and Ellie Aitken.
Charlie sent shockwaves through the eastern suburbs socialite set when he ran off with Nasser.
Hollie was married to investor Christopher Nasser at the time. Their marriage also broke down.
“Chris has always been a loving and devoted father,” Nasser said when she announced her break-up with Charlie in 2022.
“We are working together to co-parent our children. The past nine months have been very difficult and I have expressed my apologies to my family and others involved.”
She was in good spirits on Wednesday, posing for photos with her girlfriends Erin Molan and Jana Hocking.
Nasser left Shell House in the early evening, leaving the rest of the group to continue drinking over dinner.
When asked whether he was making an attempt to romantically woo the Sky News presenter, Singleton said he loves Molan’s intellect and sense of humour.
The 82-year-old advertising veteran announced his divorce from his seventh wife, Sarah Warry, in March.
He appeared on Molan’s Sky News segment as an interviewee in the first week of April, and two days later purchased the racehorse.
“It doubles the enjoyment, I love and enjoy Erin’s intellect, talent and sense of humour,” he said.
“She will need it all to deal with the heartbreak of our horse dreams having sad endings. The horse game is not for the faint-hearted – Erin will fit in perfectly”.
For her part, Molan said that Singleton was “a great friend” of her late father Jim Molan.
“I’ve always had a lot of time for John and dad and I used to go up and see him a fair bit on The Central Coast,” she said.
“He’s that spontaneous, really generous, fun guy. I guess I was on his mind because I’d rejected his TV show.”
