In a perfect example of quiet luxury or stealth wealth— the 2023 trend in which the ultra-rich downplay their affluence — celebrity chef Guillaume Brahimi described his lavish Paris wedding to chicken heiress Tamie Ingham simply as “very nice”.
Speaking to Confidential on the Logies red carpet, the head chef at namesake Sydney restaurant Bistro Guillaume, said: “It was very special, as a wedding should be.”
Among those who descended on the lavish Musée Rodin ceremony in the French capital in June for the nuptials were News Corp co-chairman Lachlan Murdoch and wife Sarah, AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan and Nine’s Karl Stefanovic (who MC’d) with his fashion designer wife Jasmine.
Bond royalty Olivia and Jeremy Bond, racing royalty Kate Waterhouse, and Nova co-host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli and his wife Lisa were also on the guest list.
Guests were hosted to a pre-wedding dinner at Giraffe Restaurant overlooking the iconic Eiffel Tower.
Tamie’s siblings Johnny Ingham and Katie Ingham also wed on the socialite wedding tour of Europe, as did Michael Porter and Billy Mitchell, and swimsuit queen Tash Oakley and property CEO Theo Chambers.
Each multimillion-dollar ceremony was exceedingly extravagant, drawing almost the entirety of the Double Bay lunch crowd from the White Lotus hotel in Taormina, Italy; to Tuscany; to Capri; and to Lake Como.
Naturally, the socialites’ weddings have been pitted against each other for the crown of celebrity event of the year.
Brahimi wouldn’t be drawn on this.
“It was definitely the biggest wedding of the year for me. I don’t know about the others,” he demurred.
As for newlywed life?
“It has been two months and it is perfect, I am very happy.”
