FOX League commentator Braith Anasta says no one is more excited for the impending arrival of his first child with girlfriend Rachael Lee than his three-year-old daughter Aleeia.
Anasta and Lee already have a busy household with Aleeia, his daughter from his marriage to Jodi Anasta, and Lee’s seven-year-old son Addison, but life is about to get even busier.
“Rachael and I love kids,” Anasta told Confidential at the launch of Fox Leagues NRL Retro Round.
“We both have one of our own and now we’ve got a blended family, the four of us live together and we’re going to be adding another one to the clan so we’re really pumped.
“Aleeia’s really excited because she’s at that period where she loves babies. She walks around the house with dolls and is feeding them. She’s very proud.”
The 35-year-old, who retired from rugby league in 2014, said both their former partners were supportive of the news.
“Everything’s really smooth, we’ve had no troubles,” he said of their respective partners’ reaction when told about the pregnancy.
“Rachael’s ex-husband and my ex-wife Jodi have been fine. They were the first to congratulate us, they know the dynamic we’ve got with the kids, they’re excited as well, we’ve had no problems whatsoever.”
The pair announced the news two weeks ago telling their followers on Instagram that the baby is due in January.
The NRL Retro Round kicks off with the Bulldogs and Eels on Thursday night at ANZ stadium.
