Glamour on the Grid: Inside gossip before the track heats up

Australia’s hottest celebs are in Melbourne for the F1, turning heads with their glamour before the action heats up on the track. Confidential has the inside scoop, here’s what they had to say.

Exclusive. Maria Thattil on love, sex and going 'off the grid'

Motorsports fans might be in Mebourne for this weekend’s Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix, but it was the fashion set that shone during the week, at Glamour on the Grid.

SydCon Unleashed has the inside scoop.

Maria Thattil

From Ramsay Street to Hollywood Boulevard, Maria Thattil says she is ready to tackle the big league.

The former Miss Universe Australia made her acting debut on Mother and Son, and joined TV soap Neighbours in a recurring role as Amira Devkar last year.

“I am really focusing on working with my acting agent and coach,” the Shark Beauty ambassador told Confidential.

“We’ve been planning, refining and focusing on the craft and I am really excited to see what lands in that space because that is where my heart is. All the auditions I’ve been doing are TV and film and I am a big believer that what is for you, won’t pass you, so I know that when the time is right the right role will land and I am excited for it.

Thattil has just returned from Spain, where she shot a global campaign for a beauty brand.

“I want to go as far as my passion for the craft will take me, and if that is Hollywood, that is where I will be,” she said.

“I am very lucky and really excited for some of the projects that are coming across our desk.”

On the personal front, Thattil is recently single after splitting from former AFL player girlfriend Moana Hope.
The pair remain close friends and both attended the Glamour on the Grid presented by Crown event at Melbourne’s Albert Park on Wednesday night.

“There is absolutely nothing going on, it is probably flatlining,” Thattil said when asked about her love life.

“It is not where my head is at – career is completely my focus, family is my focus, Mo(ana) and I are best friends so there is absolutely nothing going on.

“There is nothing and I like it that way.”

Inka Williams

Channing Tatum’s Aussie model girlfriend says she would love to have a crack at acting.

Inka Williams’ star has risen exponentially since news broke about her budding romance with the Hollywood star.

And now, like many other top models, she’s keen to pursue other creative opportunities.

“Yes, for sure. I am sure I will try (acting),” Williams told Confidential.

“I want to branch out and try a lot of different things in life, 100 per cent.”

Williams and Tatum holidayed in Fiji before flying to Australia to attend the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.

She attended the Glamor on the Grid presented by Crown event without Tatum, although the pair are expected to pop up together at Melbourne’s Albert Park over the coming days.

“I am excited, I am happy, I love being a little bit everywhere around the world and I am just really excited for life,” she said.

“I started modelling when I was really young and now that I am a woman and I have a great manager that really believes in me, I am really excited.

“I am more inspired now and motivated now than ever.”

Brooke Warne

She loves cooking and enjoys a chat so why not meld the both together? Brooke Warne will on Sunday launch an online series called Cook With Brooke.

The daughter of late cricket great Shane Warne recently launched her YouTube channel and admitted to feeling nervous about this next venture.

“I am going to do a lot of fashion, beauty, travel vlogs, all that kind of stuff,” she said.

“I love to talk so I thought a talking platform would work. I have always loved talking and I love food so I thought, ‘why not?’”

Warne attended the Glamour on the Grid presented by Crown event solo as her partner, Alex Heath, was home resting a torn ACL after a sports accident.

“I put off doing my first video for a little while because I was a little bit nervous,” she said of launching the channel.

“I will see how it goes and if it doesn’t go well, oh well, I have tried.”

Like her beloved late father, Warne has simple tastes, so don’t expect fine dining.

“I am a very home cooker,” she said.

“I don’t try anything fancy or do anything too fancy, lots of homely meals and things where you want to feel good when you eat at home. I make a really good steak sandwich, a really nice spaghetti bolognaise and lasagne, they are my three faves that I love to make.”

Could a cookbook be in the works?

“Maybe one day down the track but we will start with YouTube for now and see how that goes.”

Celebrity MasterChef?

“I don’t know if I could do it,” she squirmed.

“The random boxes, imagine if they gave me a duck, I’d have no idea what to do with it.”

Ariane Titmus

Happy in love and out of the pool, Olympic great Ariarne Titmus is lapping up her off-season.

The champion swimmer is on a self-imposed year off after the Paris Games, splitting her time between Queensland and Victoria as she soaks up all life has to offer out of the swimming pool.

“I am living my best life,” Titmus told Confidential.

“I am enjoying other parts of my life that I’ve never been able to and I am having a lot of fun. I am enjoying not having to wake up early every day and just doing other things … spend time with my family and friends and socialise, have a glass of wine at dinner, it is a lot of fun.”

She added: “I plan on definitely going back. I am just trying to enjoy the break for what it is and as much as I am thinking about the next chapter, I am also trying to be in the moment as I know there is only a few months to go.”

Titmus, 24, hard launched her new beau, Mack, on social media in January after the pair were seen together at the Australian Open.

“We are really happy,” Titmus said, attending Glamour on the Grid presented by Crown solo on Wednesday night.

“I am splitting half between Sydney and Melbourne. My partner is down here so I am loving Melbourne, it is great.”
