The Real Housewives of Melbourne are back.
After an 18 month hiatus, Foxtel last night announced a fifth series of the reality show was going into production.
“The Real Housewives of Melbourne took Australia by storm, changing our television landscape like never before and we are delighted to bring it back for Foxtel viewers,” Foxtel Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh said.
“We are continually blown away with the passionate way audiences consume this captivating series that has made household names out of Melbourne’s now infamous Housewives. This series has a huge following of loyal and adoring fans and it was paramount we picked the perfect time to commission a fifth season.”

Matchbox Pictures will again produce the series in conjunction with Foxtel.
It remains unclear which of the original housewives will return for a fifth round as “casting discussions have commenced for the new season”.
Confidential expects some of the familiar faces from previous seasons to return although it is almost certain some new faces will be added to the mix.
“We are proud to partner once again with Matchbox Pictures with a big cast shake up set for the new season which will see fresh faces join some of our most loved Melbourne Housewives,” Walsh added.
A Sydney version of the reality show ran for just one season and remains in hiatus.
The Real Housewives of Melbourne first launched in 2014 on Foxtel’s Arena channel and was one of the most watched shows in the broadcasters history.
The fifth season will launch on Arena in 2020 and will be available to stream on Foxtel.
