The newlyweds were back in Sydney following their Aspen honeymoon and were putting on a loved-up display as they took german shepherd puppy Chance the Yapper for a walk.

The couple’s public affection followed The Telegraph’s revelation yesterday that Stefanovic’s lawyers were set to issue a subpoena this week to a journalist who recorded Stefanovic’s ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn unleashing on her former husband in an airport interview.

It’s understood the pair have an agreement not to speak negatively about each other in public.

While overseas last week, Stefanovic was dumped from the show he hosted for 14 years, but was just one of the victims of the Today show clean-out, which insiders have said was at the direction of Stefanovic’s co-host Georgie Gardner.

Newsreader Sylvia Jeffreys will also be going, entertainment correspondent Richard Wilkins is getting a new offsider and there has been no word on sports presenter Tim Gilbert or Gardner herself.

Stefanovic has made no comment on his employment beyond a statement he released through Channel 9 when he was dumped as Today host.

A Nine spokesman yesterday refused to confirm if either would return next year.

“We’ll be announcing the Today show line up in a couple of weeks,” he said.

Stefanovic is yet to make any public comments other than those released by Channel 9 when it announced his departure.

“It’s been a tough time. Thanks for hanging in there. I look forward to seeing you in another capacity at this great network soon,” Stefanovic said last week.
