“I didn’t go to the wedding; he asked me to be the best man and I said ‘nah’,” Sam told Confidential.
“I just didn’t want my head on that show to be honest. It’s a tragic show and I’m actually embarrassed to see what actually gets aired, but it’ll be funny because my brother is hilarious.”
A former reality TV contestant himself, Sam, who placed sixth on Australian Survivor in 2016, said he only had one piece of advice for his big bro.
“I just said, it may be portrayed differently to what you hoped for and to just bear that in mind.”
Sam is also known for his work with mental health charity, Livin, and appeared in a guest roles on TV soaps Neighbours and Home And Away.
Despite Sam’s wedding boycott, there’s no hard feelings between the siblings.
“Daniel and I are extremely close and he was upset that I couldn’t make it, but he understood my decision and appreciated it,” Sam explained.
“I get embarrassed of these shows because I would never put myself into it, but he’s got nothing to lose, I’m happy for him regardless.”
Daniel works in new car sales and is a keen rugby league player on the Gold Coast.
Sam also confirmed his brother is the father to a 4-year-old son from a previous relationship.
