Days after touching down in Sydney, Kitchen Confidential can reveal Hollywood star Eva Mendes is the big name star to front McHappy Day 2022.

The actor, along with heartthrob husband Ryan Gosling, flew in from the US on Thursday as he will spend the next few months shooting The Fall Guy movie here.

“I’m looking forward to meeting with some of the incredible families staying at a Ronald McDonald House, listen to their inspirational stories and witness first-hand the life-changing support services provided by RMHC,” Mendes said.

“McHappy Day is a wonderful way for Aussies to support RMHC and families of seriously ill and injured children.”

Mendes, 48, was the McHappy Day ambassador in 2020, when the event had to be stripped back due to the global pandemic and all of her duties were carried out online.

This time, she is here in person and will meet with seriously ill and injured kids and their families staying at Ronald McDonald House in Sydney.

McHappy Day is a long-time fundraiser for the charity that provides emergency care nearby hospitals for kids and their families undergoing treatment.

McHappy Time kicks off on October 26 with McHappy Day held on November 19 with local celebrities set to serve customers at eateries across the country.

Mother of two Mendes has a family connection to the charity with a cousin having used the facilities when their baby was sick with neuroblastoma cancer and had to relocate from LA to New York for treatment.

“He is fine now, Andrew is a healthy seven-year-old boy thank god,” Mendes told Confidential in 2020.

“Of course I have grown up knowing of the Ronald McDonald charities, or hearing of them, but to hear directly from the family that it is all it says it is … I really wanted to get behind it. You just feel so helpless when you see families going through something.”

Meanwhile, super private Mendes and Gosling have kept a low profile since touching down in Sydney. Gosling will soon begin filming a big screen version of hit 80s TV series, The Fall Guy, alongside Emily Blunt with David Leitch on board to direct.

The Fall Guy is a Universal studio production from the same team that brought Julia Roberts and George Clooney to Queensland to shoot Ticket To Paradise last year.
