A scandal involving a contestant and a crew member rocked Farmer Wants a Wife on Sunday night, but Karlana Alexander has revealed what really happened and how she found love with another farmer.

A bizarre rumour linking a contestant to a crew member on Farmer Wants a Wife led to a shock departure on Sunday night’s episode.
Karlana Alexander told Confidential that there is absolutely no truth to claims that she secretly fell for a production employee during filming, however she admits that she did find love with another farmer.
“I find this quite funny. I had no feelings for the crew member whatsoever, it was a harmless chat between Madison (MacKenzie), myself and Ashleigh (Kidner),” Alexander said.
“We were just talking about the crew and having girl chat and I happened to say that one of the crew was really nice to me and was there for me when I was a bit upset - that was all. There was nothing more to it, I didn’t even know the crew member’s name!”
Alexander said the story was twisted by the time it got to Farmer Harry Robertson.
During Sunday’s episode, Robertson confronted Alexander about the rumours before she left the show.
“I don’t even know what was said to Harry, so when I was confronted I was in absolute shock,” she said.
“I had no intentions of pursuing the crew member whatsoever, it was just a harmless chat. I think it came from a place of insecurity, I feel like a secure person wouldn’t blow a harmless chat out of proportion and twist my words. I was going to leave anyway, so no hard feelings.”
Despite leaving the show, Alexander still managed to find love but with a different farmer.
“I entered the show with good intentions, I got along well with Harry but I think it was more on a friendship basis. Those feelings couldn’t really develop because I didn’t have much time with him and then with all the added drama that made it quite difficult,” Alexander said.
“Not long after the show, I met Farmer Jack (Beaton) through a mutual friend. We caught up for a drink and we just hit it off.
“It was like we were meant to meet. We had lots in common, similar values. That went really well but then things got a little bit hard in the end and we decided to just go our separate ways but we’re still friends.”
Beaton was a backup farmer this season who didn’t make the final cut.
Farmer Wants a Wife continues Monday at 7:30pm on Channel 7.
