Former The Daily Edition host Tom Williams has shared a provocative photograph online, drawing attention to the fact he and his drinking buddies no longer work at the Seven Network, and it seems they’re all upbeat about it.

The image, which also features former Seven employees Mia Burns, Elise Barker, Melanie Jruiz, Stu Wallace, Mike Duffey, Lee Jeloseck, Liam Cox, Naomi Shivaraman and Greg Parker, was captioned: “the Escapees catch up #topicofconversation.”

Sunrise star Edwina Bartholomew was one of the many Seven talents to comment on the pic, which was taken at The Lady Hampshire pub in Camperdown, writing, “Is there a 12 step program”, to which Williams responded: “We skipped it and went straight to the drinking part.”

When Sunday Confidential asked Seven what they thought of the pic, a spokeswoman said: “Tom and Channel 7 will always be the best of friends. We are big supporters of Tom and wish him every success.”

Williams announced in December he would be giving up The Daily Edition to work
as a real estate agent.

It is believed the former carpenter’s contract was up and both parties decided to move on.
