IT’S the ring that has everyone talking — now Erin Molan’s jeweller has confirmed the sparkler’s rough estimation but says she won’t recreate the same ring for anyone else.
Zena Kaddour, from House of K’dor in Chatswood, told Confidential this morning the ring was worth in the $100,000 range.
“Erin is a dear friend to me — we were delighted to be part of this all,” she said.
“We wouldn’t do the same ring for anyone else — we like creating a ring for individual clients.”
House of K’dor said in a statement yesterday that the ring had a “six-figure price tag” sending fans into meltdown on social media.
“If he doesn't spend a cent in six months to save 6 figures that means hes on over 200k??? Not many cops earn that,” one person said.
Another wrote: “Wow.... what are police earning these days? Only took six months to save for a six figure ring. Puts his salary at a minimum of 200k p/a.”
Molan’s police officer Sean Ogilvy fiance proposed to her on a trip to Tasmania this week.
The handcrafted 18-carat white gold ring has three carats of brilliant oval and pear cut diamonds.
“We celebrate all occasions and purchases and always go the extra mile for our clients with champagne, flowers etc and most importantly love,” House of K’dor said in an email yesterday.
“Despite our friendship (with Erin and Sean), I can confirm that the diamond ring was purchased and not gifted.”
