IT is a tough gig on a cop’s wage but Erin Molan’s now fiance, police officer Sean Ogilvy, saved for six months to give the television reporter a diamond sparkler engagement ring with a six figure price tag.
Ogilvy proposed to Molan (left) on a trip to Tasmania this week. She shared the moment on social media with some suggesting the ring may have been a freebie.
But when contacted yesterday, the popular Channel 9 presenter confirmed the ring had been paid for.
That didn’t stop the jeweller responsible for the ring boasting of the “six figure bespoke creation ... exquisitely handcrafted in 18K white gold, the centre stone is adorned by just over 3cts brilliant oval and pear cut diamonds.
“We celebrate all occasions and purchases and always go the extra mile for our clients with champagne, flowers etc and most importantly love,” the jeweller said in an email to Confidential.
“Despite our friendship (with Erin and Sean) I can confirm that the diamond ring was purchased and not gifted.”
