Erin Molan: Here’s proof baby brain exists

NRL Footy Show’s newly appointed host promised she wouldn’t make her swollen feet the topic of TV conversation but some “baby brain” mishaps are hard to ignore for Erin Molan.

The 34-year-old suffered a hilarious boo-boo yesterday after she photographed herself with a spoon covered in Milo stuck in her hair.

Molan, showing off a small baby bump, was pictured on set of Nine News during the accident.

“I can’t believe they actually commissioned (and spent money on) a study to prove ‘baby brain’ exists,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Walking out of the @9newssydney studio tonight my milo spoon somehow got caught in my hair ... and of course @hairbykatejean was there to capture it all.

“In my defence — I managed not to get any milo in my hair or on my dress!”

Molan has just been crowned NRL Footy Show host this week and will give birth to her and fiance Sean Ogilvy’s first child right in the middle of the season.

“I didn’t plan things overly well, but I do love a challenge,” Molan told The Daily Telegraph yesterday.

Molan, who has been a presenter with Channel Nine since 2010, will take over the lead on the rugby league show, after long-serving host Paul Vautin was punted in October after 23 years and 11 Logies.

“I’m thrilled to be hosting a new-look Footy Show,” Molan said on Monday.

“It is a huge honour and one I am incredibly excited about. I am a journalist first and foremost and cannot wait to focus a bit more on football, but of course still have loads of fun.”

Vautin, who declared “nothing lasts forever” when news of his axing broke, will move into the Nine commentary box, where he started his media career 25 years ago.

Ironically, Vautin had predicted Molan would take over from him on the show.

Two years ago he said: “I just turn up at 8.30 every Thursday night, put my bum on the seat and do my best.
