Rebel Wilson, Katy Perry, and Rita Ora are just some of the A-listers who have attended Taylor Swift’s massive Eras Tour in Sydney.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and former PM Scott Morrison made controversial appearances on Saturday, while other Australian stars including Kate Ritchie and KIIS FM radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, and took their daughters and nieces to the once-in-a-generation-show.
Jackie O attended with fellow Sydney identities PE Nation founder Pip Edwards and Tash Oakley, while The Veronicas’ Lisa Origliasso shared selfie with her long-time bestie Tanya Rose.
Actor and director Wilson made not one, but two Instagram photo dumps on Saturday night, sharing a smiling snap with opening act and rising star Sabrina Carpenter near the VIP tent on the floor.
Wilson and her niece were hosted in the VIP area where Swift’s boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce hung out with singer Rita Ora and her husband, Hollywood director Taika Waititi on Friday night.
Wilson also shared a selfie video dancing and singing to Shake It Off with Swift’s father, better known as “Papa Swift”.
“Taylor Swift absolutely CRUSHED IT tonight,” she wrote. “Thanks to Sabrina Carpenter for being so cool and Papa Swift for all the chats! What an epic concert. Taylor, you are just incredible.”
Wilson, who is staying in Bondi with her fiancee Ramona Agruma and daughter Royce while she directs feature film The Deb, also shared photos of herself exchanging friendship bracelets with fellow Swifties inside Accor Stadium, and posing with friend Toni Collette.
The Pitch Perfect actor “pre-gamed for Taylor Swift” in her Bondi rental with a spread of lollies and Swift themed lights.
She is the biggest name to have attended the Eras Tour in Sydney, besides Katy Perry. The Teenage Dream singer shared a loved-up selfie with Swift backstage on Friday night, singing along to 1989 era anthem Bad Blood, which was allegedly written about her.
“Got to see an old friend shine tonight,” Perry captioned the carousel of photos, which included Perry jokingly opening her eyes super wide at the song referencing the pair’s former feud.
In Swift’s 2014 Rolling Stone cover story, she revealed that Bad Blood was written about a fellow female pop star, a year after Perry had supposedly poached three of her dancers from Red World Tour to bring on her own California Dreams tour.
In another friendly troll, Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus also made an appearance backstage.
The 90s punk band performed its own sell out concert to 21,000 people at Qudos Bank Arena on Friday night, which is in the same precinct as Accor Stadium, where Swift hosted 81,0000.
Swift’s superstar entourage appear wherever the pop icon travels, with everyone from actors like Emma Watson Sydney Sweeney, to supermodels Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid, to best friend Selena Gomez, Australian star Nicole Kidman, as well as the likes of Shania Twain and Reese Witherspoon attending the Eras Tour in the U.S. Melbourne-born muso G Flip raved about Swift’s “hometown” shows too. Now all that’s left is to see which stars come out of the woodwork for the seventh and final show.
Even the coolest of Aussie celebs got into the action.
From Grant Denyer attending with daughter Sailor to Kate Ritchie hosting Nova radio listeners in a corporate suite, many of our top names were spotted in the crowd at Accor Stadium over the first few nights of Swift’s run of four shows.
Crown Sydney and Destination NSW took the cake, shaking it off with a luxe journey that started at Tea House in Barangaroo and travelled on board a river cruiser to Homebush that included drinks, nibblies and a sparkle station of face painting and friendship beads.
Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, Pip Edwarrds and Sonia Kruger were on board on Saturday while Friday night saw the likes of Sylvia Jeffreys and Sarah Abo head to Swift’s concert on the boat.
“What a night,” Kruger told Confidential.
“It’s just Taylor’s era and we are living in it. Her fandom is incredible and the vibe was electric from start to finish.
‘She is an absolute force.”
Actors Josh Heuston and April Rose Pengilly, as well as model Tash Oakley were also seen bopping to Swift’s biggest hits in the Crown section of the Accor Stadium.
