Eccentric reality star AthenaX Levendi has revealed her struggle with The Real Housewives Of Sydney producers who tried to censor her creative wardrobe choices, labelling herself an “emotional dresser”.

An artist who famously wore a fishing net cape on the show’s first episode, Levendi said she was confronted by style schedules and wardrobe rules on the show.

“I struggled when they wanted me to look a certain way,” Levendi said.

“It was hard for me when I would get a call sheet to wear ‘this colour’ or ‘it has to be dress not pants’. I never dressed that way ... I am a very emotional dresser.

“I had a lot of discussion with production. As they got to understand me and appreciate what I was doing, they gave me more reign.”

Her fashion has become a major talking point of the show, as well as her wacky one-liners including, “(my husband) and I never have sex — we only make love”. Levendi’s fishing net cape was a highlight of the first episode, while this week it was her Sailor Moon ensemble that garnered attention.

“I did say early on, ‘If you expect me to wear those tight Gucci dresses you have the wrong girl’,” she said.

Levendi is just one of seven stars of the new show who have sent a buzz around the Harbour City and created a new bunch of local celebrities.

Yesterday Confidential spotted the artist who was dining at The Dolphin Hotel in Surry Hills where one punter squealed in excitement at the sight of the star.

Levendi said she would not hesitate to sign on for a second season.

“For me it was a life-changing experience,” she said. “I also hope the show has taught the audiences some lessons too.”
