SYDNEY breakfast radio host Em Rusciano has been inundated with support after revealing she suffered a miscarriage last week.
Rusciano shared the news on social media at the weekend, saying, “I’m right on the edge of every emotion I possess.”
She was instantly flooded with thousands of messages of support from other women who had gone through a similar ordeal.
In the forthright post, the 38-year-old 2dayFM star described how 10 weeks ago, she and husband Scott Barrow got “the wondrous surprise” that she was pregnant. She had planned to share the news with listeners this morning as she would have been 13 weeks pregnant. “Instead I will be at home in the most exquisite pain I can possibly fathom,” she said.
The mum of two girls, Marchella and Odette, went on to describe in heartbreaking detail how the couple had named their son Ray and imagined life with him.
The cruellest part, she said, is she ‘still looks pregnant’, but has no baby.
Rusciano also announced she will be stepping away from her radio show for a couple of weeks to “honour” her son. A spokesman for the show told The Daily Telegraph the entire team was supporting their colleague.
“We wish to offer our deepest condolences,’’ the spokesman said.
