Elly and Becky reveal their choices in Bachelorette finale

Sister duo Becky and Elly Miles both chose their love matches in last night’s Bachelorette finale but now the elder sister has revealed she was dumped on social media.

Becky Miles chooses Pete (The Bachelorette)

Bachelorette Becky Miles says she felt blindsided after being dumped via Facebook by boyfriend Pete Mann.

The explosive news comes after last night’s fairytale ending of the reality dating show in which Becky chose Mann while her younger sister Elly fell in love with Brisbane concreter Frazer Neate.

“It was a tough pill to swallow because I was really excited to do life with Pete,” Becky told The Daily Telegraph, breaking down to tears as she spoke. “Pete ended it on his own accord. He told me that he had some concerns in the show that he hadn’t voiced. I was really upset by that and a bit blindsided because throughout the whole experience I tried to be as open and honest about my feelings.”

Becky chose Mann over QLD kitesurfer Adrian Baena. The pair spent three “beautiful” days together before he flew home to Adelaide and the plan was to do a long distance relationship.

“I feel a bit cheated because three days after spending time together and having a really nice time, I feel like that isn’t giving it a go,” Becky explained. “I was very upset by that. In those three days, he was saying all the right things to me, saying he was glad I chose him and he was going to miss me and all of these hopeful things.”

Mann broke the relationship off on a FaceTime call.

“He said he didn’t think there was a spark there and he isn’t my person,” she recalled. “It was all very heartbreaking in that moment. I am really grateful that he at least told me how he was feeling and broke it off then rather than stringing me along if he wasn’t sure.”

Becky said she and Baena had been in touch and that he had been a strong support through the experience.

“I knew exactly where Adrian’s feelings were at with me and I think we would have given it a really good crack and so I am devastated,” she said. “Adrian and I have reconnected as friends. It is a bit sad because there could have been something beautiful there. When I chose Pete, I put all my eggs in his basket. And so I don’t think there is any chance there of rekindling things with Adrian.”

Also speaking to the Telegraph, Mann said he had some doubts towards the end of the season, which wrapped just over a month ago, but kept them to himself to give the relationship a chance.

“She is not the only one that is alone now too,” he said. “I am going through that as well. It is not the ideal situation and it is not the fairytale ending that I guess everyone wants but I knew it was the right thing to do and the right thing for both of us going forward.”

Mann, 34, reached out to Becky earlier this week for the first time since the breakup.

“I guess it could be accurate,” he said when asked how he felt about Becky’s blindsided comment. “I guess maybe I wasn’t as expressive as I could have been about some of my doubts, that’s where she could feel blindsided by it. It came down to the decision, do I walk away or do I see if something is there. I wasn’t going to throw that away on a couple of doubts here and there.”

The big doubt for Mann was whether or not he had fallen in love on the show while another was the fact that he is based in South Australia and she lives in NSW.

“From my point of view, I think it is (done),” he said. “She is a great person and she will find that someone that is perfect for her but I don’t think that I am that person. I had never been in a long distance relationship before and I don’t think it is something I will ever try again.”

Of her experience and falling in love with Neate, Elly said: “I’m so grateful for the journey

I have been on being the Bachelorette with my beautiful sister Becky. There’s been highs and lows but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Not only have I experienced an incredible journey with Bec but to have also found an incredible man who makes my future appear so much brighter.”
