Daniel Ricciardo: ‘Why I don’t live and breathe sport’
F1 champion Daniel Ricciardo has been passionate about motor racing since he was a teenager, but in the November/December issue of GQ Australia, he tells the magazine why he doesn’t live and breathe the sport.

Motorsport is not the be all and end all for Australia’s only Formula One driver.
Appearing on the cover of the latest issue of GQ Australia, Daniel Ricciardo says that while discipline got him to the top of the sport, he looks at his F1 career like any other job.
“If you let it consume you, it can,” he told the magazine, in store Monday. “And I want to do the best I can and get the most out of everyone working with me. But I don’t live and breathe the sport. I have other hobbies and interests.”
Outside of racing, the 31-year-old is a fan of UFC, mountain biking and the great outdoors in general. Music too is a great love.
“I’m at an age now where I realise younger kids are looking up to me. I’m more conscious of setting a good example, whether it’s on a matter of activism, life, health or business. I guess I’m trying to show them there’s a time to be disciplined and focused. But then there’s also a time to switch off and let yourself enjoy life.”
