It is the public feud the Australian fashion industry can’t stop talking about.

The women behind the once famous They All Hate Us blog, Tash Sefton and Elle Ferguson have aired their dirty laundry on social media, resulting in a grovelling apology from Ferguson.

Seven months after Sunday Confidential revealed their once seemingly unbreakable friendship had fractured, Ferguson took to Instagram to inform her followers that a close friend had “betrayed” her, and fans suspected it was about her former bestie.

“Actions have consequences,” Ferguson wrote this week. “Don’t expect loyalty from someone who cannot give you honesty.

“12 months ago I was betrayed by someone very close to me. Someone I considered family.
“They lied to me … they actually broke my heart. I have kept this betrayal close to me as I thought this person would do the right thing. They have not done this.”

In reply to followers’ privately posted guesses as to who she was referring to, she publicly posted “You are correct, for everyone asking.”

However it appears Ferguson’s actions have had consequences too as Confidential believes Sefton may have sought legal advice about the posts, resulting in Ferguson retracting her messages.

The former pals have not been seen together since 2017.

The blogger, who now posts under her tagline “Elle Effect”, took to Instagram to tell her followers that “Recently on Instagram, I posted some comments which some people erroneously thought were directed at Tash Sefton. Tash and I have enjoyed a long and fruitful friendship and business association, and my comments were not about her.

“I can now understand why some people may have thought my comments were about Tash and that Tash has been caused substantial distress and hurt.

“I regret posting my comments and sincerely apologise to Tash for the distress and hurt she has suffered.”

Ferguson and Sefton who have made millions out of their mutually beneficial relationship, haven’t been seen together since 2017 or posted together since April 2018.
