NICK “The Honeybadger” Cummins not only disappointed millions of Australians when he became the first suitor to finish the Bachelor series solo, but doubled the dose by disappearing to the wilds of Papua New Guinea rather than fronting the media.
After bailing overseas just in time for the final two episodes, questions are being asked about why Cummins got a leave pass on the strict Bachelor obligations believed to have been imposed on past cast.

Confidential understands contracts signed by previous members of the Bachelor and Bachelorette franchises included a 12-week long commitment to the union after the finale to ensure maximum press and media coverage for the show.
A publicist, who asked to remain anonymous, confirmed this was the case, and said they refused to sign any Bachelor/ette talent to their books as a result.

“As a management agency, it’s near impossible to be able to generate income during that period,” she said.
“There were too many areas contractually that were no-go zones.
“The peak time to be able to create financial opportunities for the talent was from the day the show finished, not three months after.”
Network Ten wouldn’t go into specifics regarding Cummins’ contract, but said: “Nick committed to walking the Kokoda Trail with the Grass Skirt Project last year, before he signed on to The Bachelor Australia.
The fact this trip occurred at the same time as The Bachelor finale air date was purely a coincidence and nothing more.”
And as for the ladies on the program, it seems some had an ulterior motive for going on.
