Deni Todorovic’s Fashion Week lasted less than 24 hours.
The self-described “author, broadcaster, educator, s. t, tranny, and wog,” returned to their hotel room on Wednesday, after they were turned away from an off-site fashion show.
This comes as their arrival to Australian Fashion Week was delayed at Melbourne airport on Monday due to a dramatic clash with Jetstar staff and federal police over an $100 overweight baggage charge.
“I was just refused entry to a fashion show by someone I thought was my friend,” Todorovic penned to their Instagram stories.
“Someone who I showed my empathy to.”
Confidential understands Todorovic was not disinvited, but in fact never received an invitation.
A source confirmed they are not a friend of the designer, as Todorovic claimed.
Heading up the stairs for WAG-turned-designer Nadia Bartel’s Henne runway at St Barnabas in Ultimo, Todorovic was stopped by security before entering.
Wearing a “Drink Coca Cola” hoodie, a black tutu with a split up to their crotch showing off their Dolce and Gabbana underwear for the third day of AFW, the social media influencer was turned away and told they were not allowed into the show and advised to leave.
Security later said Todorovic was extremely polite, talked through the situation in a calm manner, and did not want to make a scene.
They said Todorovic asked why they weren’t allowed in, to which security said they did not have an invitation.
Todorovic later made the most of the moment, stopping for street style photographers and sashaying down the street.
“I won’t share her show name, her name, or brand’s name because I came to her show out of solidarity and with a gift in my bag. All bags matter,” Todorovic continued in their Instagram post.
In the early afternoon, they spoke on this more during an Instagram live to some 140 viewers.
“Hey everyone, so guess what? Getting kicked out of Fashion Week was actually a blessing, hello darling, because tonight I’m going to the premiere of Tina Turner,” they said.
Todorovic proceeded to speak about May 17th being International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
They did this while trying on outfits in preparation for the Sydney red carpet premiere of the Tina Turner musical, which is actually on Thursday night.
Todorovic told fans: “I’m okay, I’m sober,” called Gen Z “snowflakes” who are easily “triggered”, and asked people not to cross a “boundary” by commenting on any recent headlines.
