Comedian Tanya Hennessy engaged to Tom Poole

Comedian Tanya Hennessy, 35, has shared a photo of her diamond engagement ring after her long time boyfriend popped the question.

Comedian Tanya Hennessy is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Tom Poole.

The former I’m a Celebrity contestant shared the announcement on social media this week after her boyfriend of six years popped the question.

“I’m going to be the least subtle bride alive. (It happened a while ago, but we just kept in it on the DL) @thomaspoole_,” she wrote on Instagram.

Hennessy, 35, shared a photo of the large diamond engagement ring that Poole, 28, surprised her with.

The couple are yet to set a wedding date.

Newcastle-born Hennessy rose to stardom in 2015 after comedy videos she filmed on her iPhone went viral.

She has since had TV and radio stints, including guest hosting Studio 10 and she previously credited Poole with helping her find success.

“I reckon I probably wouldn’t be here without him,” she told Stellar.

“That man has escalated me to a point where I feel fearless in creating because he’s always going to be there if things fall apart.”

Last year, she shared her hopes for an engagement to Poole.

“We’ve been together for almost five years. I’m like ‘When are we going to get married? I just want to be engaged to him because he’s the best person alive. I’ve said to him, ‘I’ll propose to you’. He was like, ‘No, let me do it’ And I’m like, ‘Well when, b***h? When?” she joked.
