They’ve been labelled the funniest couple on TV, are taking the world by storm – and with three Logies under their collar, Colin From Accounts fans who “loved the first season should buckle up,” says Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer’s co-star Tai Hara.
The Sydney actor, who stars as Ashley’s ex-boyfriend and hospital co-worker James, said “Pat and Harry have really outdone themselves,” on season two.
“It’s bigger, better and more hilarious than ever,” Hara told Confidential.
The first season of the romantic comedy featured a nipple flash, a dog being run over and an exaggerated poop scene, a whirlwind relationship between unlikely dog co-parents “that made everyone fall in love”.
The new season is said to feature even more “relationship misadventures” between Ashley and Gordon, played by Brammall and Dyer, as they return to the small screen as the flawed but loveable characters.
There will be a few new faces, including comedian and friend of the couple Celeste Barber, with Hara reprising his “juicy” role of the antagonist. “There’ll be some fireworks,” he promises.
The Binge and Foxtel series premiered across the world, in the UK on BBC and the US on Paramount+ to rave reviews, with a certified fresh score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The hit comedy series also received an outstanding 10 nominations for the 2024 AACTA Awards.
“We all had the feeling that it was something special, we loved making it so much,” Hara said. “But no one in their wildest dreams could have foreseen the global sensation it’s become.”
Australians do drama so well that Hara said “there’s been a dry patch” in the romantic space “for quite a while.”
“It’s another reason why Colin has been such a success.”
In addition to: “The unique Australian sensibility, fun, self-deprecating humour, mixed in with those touching, beautiful moments.”
Inner west denizens will see “their favourite hangouts” onscreen again, with the most of the filming done around the area.
Season two premieres Tuesday May 30 on Binge and on Showcase at 8.30pm.
