Chrissy Teigen says sorry (sort of) for THAT wardrobe malfunction at AMAs

John Legend’s wife said ‘I was walking, it floated’ as she tried to pass off the moment she revealed more than she should have at the American Music Awards.

Chrissy Teigen has apologised for the wardrobe malfunction that she really should have seen coming.

The wife of John Legend dropped a few jaws with her high-slit dress at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles yesterday.

It was already pretty revealing before momentarily flashing open to reveal that she wasn’t wearing any underwear.

Suddenly the internet was full of black boxes and pixelators were working overtime to cover her modesty.

Of course plenty of trolls took to Twitter to post their objections to her outfit, literally held together by a safety pin, which was actually designed by the Australian Yousef Akbar.

Many observers suggested that a trial run would have shown up the likely red-carpet shortcomings of the dress.

And why, others asked with some justification, didn’t husband John have a quiet word in her ear as she dressed in front of the mirror.

Maybe the All Of Me singer his mind on the performance he was about to give at the Microsoft Theatre, or maybe he passed it off as a ‘perfect imperfection’.

Whichever, Teigen explained later when shown photos.

“ I was walking. It floated. It’s over. I can’t take it back. Here is a formal apology. What else would you like?”

Totally unfazed by the hoo-ha, Teigen used her moment on stage to deliver a stinging assessment of Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in the US Presidential race.

“On the heels of a reall interesting f****d up f***ing election, we could all use a little love tonight” she said.

Meanwhile, Arianna Grande and Nicky Minaj put on the sort of raunchy performance of Side To Side that they presumably hoped would make them the headlines at one of the first big awards nights of the season.

And Selena Gomez also got in on the act by making a powerful statement about body image after being voted favourite female artist.
