HUSBAND and wife duo Sylvia Jeffreys and Peter Stefanovic had one thing on their minds last night — dollars and lots of it.
“We are raising as many dollars as humanly possible,” Today presenter Jeffereys told Confidential as the couple arrived for the annual Gold Dinner Sydney Children’s Hospital fundraiser.
Weekend Today host Stefanovic added: “It’s a great privilege and thrill to be able to help in any way we can.”
The Gold dinner is one of the biggest social events of the year in Sydney, attracting a mixture of the top need of town, celebrities and socialites.
This year’s event was held on the wharf at Walshe Bay overlooking Sydney Harbour with an Australiana theme.
At $1500 a ticket and with lavish auction items on offer, organisers of the 21st annual event hoped to raise $1 million to go towards kids cancer research.
Designers Rebecca Vallance and Camilla Freeman Topper were on hand while The Voice coach Boy George was the headline entertainment.
Nine news reader Deb Knight appropriately opted for a gold gown for the occasion while Real Housewives Of Sydney star Krissy Marsh wore a Constantina Danis navy sequined jumpsuit.
“I support any children’s charity,” Marsh said. “I’ve got kids who have been at the Sydney Children’s Hospital many times.”
