Cass Thorburn’s personalised number plates have Karl and Jasmine confused
Cassandra Thorburn has been driving around in a car bearing personalised number plates that have left her ex-husband Karl Stefanovic and his new wife Jasmine Yarbrough scratching their heads. WATCH HOW KARL RESPONDED.
For someone who once famously said Karl Stefanovic was “dead” to her, Cassandra Thorburn doesn’t seem to mind a few reminders of her ex-husband.
She has been driving a newly purchased Mini Cooper with a personalised number plate that seems to reference Karl’s new wife Jasmine Yarbrough.
“Fizzy” comes from the moniker “Jassy Fizzle”, the nickname both friends and Stefanovic give Jasmine Yarbrough in reference to the Missy Elliott and Ciara song 1, 2, Step.

It was also a word used as part of the hashtag for their 2018 wedding in Mexico, with guests tagging their Instagram photos #letsgetfizzykarl, which Stefanovic sung to the tune of Olivia Newton-John’s Let’s Get Physical.
The Sunday Telegraph believes the number plates were purchased in February, after the Dancing With The Stars contestant traded in her Volvo, which had the very ordinary number plate BZE 72B.
“Cass is well aware Fizzy is Jasmine’s nickname,” one source close to the pair said.
“And both Jas and Karl have seen the customised plates and are scratching their heads.”
The Sunday Telegraph asked Thorburn whether the number plates were a coincidence or a nod at her ex-husband, however she didn’t respond.
The personalised plates, which are estimated to have set the mother-of-three back $571, are the latest in a long line of subtle and not-so-subtle digs at Stefanovic.
The relationship between Thorburn and Stefanovic has been extraordinarily hostile since The Sunday Telegraph revealed their divorce in September 2016, with the reality TV contestant launching several blistering — and some might say undignified — attacks on the father of her three children.
In December last year she branded Stefanovic as: “This fake person who lives in this fake castle”.
“He’s thrown three weddings, for goodness sake,” she said.
“Who needs three weddings in a year, give us a break!”
Then, in perhaps the most belittling gibe of them all, in a bold and perhaps unnecessary confession to The Australian Women’s Weekly, Thorburn revealed Stefanovic had a baby blanket that goes by the name of Bee-Bee and that he takes it with him everywhere he goes.
