Just six months after their fairytale ending on The Bachelorette finale, Angie Kent and Carlin Sterritt have split.
The former Bachelorette confirmed their breakup in a lengthy post on Instagram, after months of speculation, before speaking to Confidential about the split.
“Chemistry doesn’t always equal compatibility. We gave it our all and it didn’t work out,” Kent told Confidential.
“Our values didn’t align. Both Carlin and I will never give personal details. Out of respect for
Carlin I will not reveal the personal workings of our relationship.
“That’s all I will say. I wish him nothing but the best for the future.“

She continued: “I appreciate everyone’s concern and the investment that many of you made into the show and our story, but this is real life and we both need privacy and time to heal. I just want to put the rumours to bed and to clarify so that questions stop. Please remember we are both human beings like everyone else.”
The news comes after weeks of speculation about the status of the couple’s relationship as they seemingly lived separate lives with Kent spending time away from F45 trainer Sterritt in Queensland with her family and him retreating to Thredbo resort with friends last week.
Friends told Confidential the couple’s relationship broke down during coronvirus lockdown.
“They really fell in love but the pressure got to them,” a source close to the pair said. “Angie has been devastated and she really wants to put this behind her, which is why she has been spending time with her family to recoup and get her life back together.”
Since finding love on the show one year ago, their relationship has been plagued by split rumours including whispers that Sterritt had allegedly reunited with his ex-wife Taran Higgins last year.
“There’s been a lot of rumours that we’ve split or that I’ve been with someone else or he’s back with his ex-wife - it’s not true!” Kent previously told Confidential.
The former Gogglebox star recently denied claims that Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise couples are contractually obligated to fake their relationships for a certain period of time after the finale airs.
Confidential has contacted the pair for further comment.
