Byron Bay: Hollywood star Melissa McCarthy hits beach with hubbie

Hollywood megastar Melissa McCarthy has been spotted soaking up all Byron Bay has to offer with husband Ben Falcone and fellow actor Luke Evans.

Hollywood star Melissa McCarthy is well and truly relaxing into Byron Bay life.

She’s dressing the part too, spotted wearing loose fitting shirt and pants, a large sunhat, dark sunglasses, sandals and a cotton scarf as she soaked up the warm weather on a stroll along the iconic Wategos Beach.

Actor, writer and director husband Ben Falcone was by her side with the couple showing no sign of stress after last week being sued, along with WarnerBros, $10 million for alleged copyright infringement on their movie, Live of the Party.

McCarthy, who celebrated her 50th birthday in Australia last month, has been based in the northern NSW township for several weeks where she is shooting Nicole Kidman TV drama Nine Perfect Strangers with Bobby Cannavale, Asher Keddie, Regina Hall, Michael Shannon, Samara Weaving and Zoe Terakes.

The low-key couple are understood to be living in a mansion overlooking the beach and have been seen regularly out and about in the community.

Co-star Luke Evans joined the couple for their walk in the sun while their two daughters were also spotted on the beach.

McCarthy is a big name drawcard in Hollywood with movie credits including Bridesmaids, The Boss, Tammy, Identity Thief, This is 40, Spy, Ghostbusters and Can You Forgive Me?

Nine Perfect Strangers is one of a number of major productions shooting in the area. Local TV drama Eden is in production, starring Samuel Johnson, Keiynan Lonsdale and Cody Fern, as well as Tyler Atkins directed feature film, Bosch & Rockit, in which Luke Hemsworth and Isabel Lucas play the lead roles.
