Bondi Rescue lifeguard Bruce ‘Hoppo’ Hopkins will marry for the second time after popping the question to his long-term partner, Karen Griffin.
The 50-year-old proposed while the couple were on holiday on Varadero Beach in Cuba on May 31.
“It was a complete surprise,” Griffin, an entertainment and celebrity publicist, told Confidential.
“Hoppo got down on one knee. He’d been carrying the ring around for apparently three weeks waiting to find the right moment. It couldn’t have been more perfect. It was absolutely beautiful.”

The couple have been together for just short of three years, having met at a friend’s 40th birthday at The Ivy Penthouse in 2016.
They moved in together in Clovelly about six months later and have been going strong ever since.
Hoppo is one of the original Bondi Rescue cast and continues to work as the head lifeguard for Waverly Council.
He and Griffin also worked together on a water safety program for Surf Educators International.
