JUST over one year since her ex-husband Dan Single fell from the third floor of his Paris hotel, an incident which ultimately ended their marriage, Bambi Northwood-Blyth’s career is once again on the rise, with friends claiming the resurgence is thanks to her split from the former designer.
Underlining the fact their union has come to an end, their much-hyped pyjama label, P. Jame, is no longer.
The pair, once a permanent fixture on Sydney’s social scene and in a self-described “co-dependent relationship”, were known for their partying ways, however following Single’s near death experience, 27-year-old Bambi is focusing on her health and booming modelling career.
“Dan and Bambi met 10 years ago when Bambi’s career was really taking off and while she worked hard during that time, Dan was her priority,” a friend of the model told Confidential. “Now they have split, Bambi has taken a step back, stopped partying and is absolutely more focused on her career. And it’s paying off.”
Since the split, Northwood-Blyth has had commercial success with a number of high paying clients including Mango, Voodoo Hosiery, Nike, Roxy and Bonds and has posed for glossy magazines including Vanity Fair.
The modelling industry has noticed the shift in Northwood Blyth’s focus.
“Bambi hit the ground running when she first started modelling,” a friend who used to work with the model said.
“The minute her face was introduced to the fashion industry, it swept her up and she became a major success right off the cuff, which is amazing, but when this happens to young models, it doesn’t always mean they are ready for it.
“Sometimes these models who start young need to take a step back and often they do and then come back with a vengeance and much more focused.
“Bambi is now seeing the success she deserves and the one person who needs to be credited for that success is Bambi.”
Northwood Blyth’s Instagram page, once filled with doting, loved-up images of she and her husband, now paints a picture of a hardworking model who is travelling the globe and landing lucrative campaigns.
But it is not just Northwood-Blyth who is getting on with her life. Single has been enlisted as a DJ at New York hot spot and Aussie haunt, The Surf Lodge.
He has also been working on the decks at LA watering hole, The Friend Bar.
Single, 37, and bushy-browed beauty Northwood-Blyth tied the knot in Byron Bay at Coorabella in 2016.
