Bachelorette Georgia Love might not return to newsreading

BACHELORETTE Georgia Love says putting herself out there in such a personal on the reality show may preclude her from work as a journalist.

Georgia's first kiss as The Bachelorette

BACHELORETTE Georgia Love is a realist when it comes to her future work opportunities.

The former Hobart TV news reader says putting herself out there in such a personal on the reality show may preclude her from work as a journalist.

“I have got my head on my shoulders and I certainly know that may not be a possibility for me again,” Love told the Confidential on Nova radio show last night.

“Being a news reader and a news reporter is all about not having emotions and not having opinions and just being a face and a presenter telling the story. So I understand that now I have gone out there and completely shown my emotions and my personal story, that actually takes away from that role of unbiased news reporter or presenter.”

Love controversially gave up what some would see as a dream job to focus solely on her search for love on the Channel Ten reality show.

“I’m not under any false pretences that it is just going to be stepping back into a job like that but I am hopeful that I will find something that I love just as much,” she said. “My focus in doing this has been to find love and it is still very much that. It is not like we finished filming and I’ll move on to the next thing. I’m certainly thinking about what my options are and hoping to get back into the workforce. I am still and independent person who wants to make my own money.”

Love’s series premiered last week with 16 handsome blokes vying for her affections with the ultimate aim of winning her heart.

Three men — Dale, Carlos and Ben — were voted off in the first two episodes with the series to continue on Wednesday night.

Even prior to the show launching, Love was the subject of much controversy with several ex boyfriends coming forward to tell their stories.

When she was announced to star in the show in June, she told Confidential she had “no skeletons in the closet” and stands by that statement today.

“When asked if there were any skeletons in my closet, I so definitively said no because that is the truth,” she said last night. “When all of these rumours came out from an ex boyfriend and friends of friends who apparently know someone who is close to the source, that’s why it was so hurtful, because it wasn’t true. If I had these things I’d wanted to hide and they came out, oops, but that is not what happened and that is why it was so hurtful. I know what is true and I know what is not and as long as people are seeing that and believing me then the gossips can say what they want to say.”
