“I’d avoided thinking about that and thought I would run away to paradise, laugh, be around people falling in love and everything would be fine,” she said.

“But when I was offered the date card I cracked the sh*ts. I was not expecting an emotional reaction. I was panicking. I couldn’t breathe. I became hysterical and I realised in that moment it wasn’t healthy to be there,” she said.

“My reaction surprised me but clearly there were things simmering under the surface.”

Fleure said despite her mental state, she didn’t think “there was an extraordinary calibre” of men to choose from, including Canadian import Daniel Maguire.

“He was a pig,” Fleure said.

“Away from the camera he whispered in my ear in a sleazy way that he’d seen me lying in the sun earlier in the day and said how incredible my arse looked. Then he said he was a personal trainer, so it was like a professional comment from him,” she said.

“It was so sleazy and just an insult to my intelligence to think that comment would have me falling all over him.”
