WHILE many reality contestants complain about being named a TV “villain” and blame their portrayal on editing, Bachelor contestant Jennifer says she is thrilled she has earned herself the title.

The 27-year-old’s “you should be intimidated by me” line set her up for the controversial role from the get-go, but it was her tears and refusal to back down over a comment about her “putrid” dress that quickly cemented her as one of this season’s most polarising characters.

“I absolutely love that I’ve been painted as a villainous character,” Jen told Confidential of her appearance in the latest series of the Ten dating show.

“I think while we were in the house there were three others that were in the running, but I will gladly take the name. I hope I do the show proud being this year’s Bachie villain and I hope for Australia’s sake I’m a really entertaining one.”

It may be all well and good for Jennifer to declare she is enjoying the criticism with only one episode having hit screens, but the marketing manager says she is prepared for any fallout that may come from her “intimidating” personality.

“If any of the girls were going to have to be the villain, it’s probably best that it was me because I genuinely am not going to be affected by the backlash,” she said.

“In my real life I have the tendency to intimidate people.

“I’m pretty switched on and pretty intelligent, so I do tend to back myself. It’s probably just that I have a brazen personality that’s really out there. “For a lot of women who aren’t as confident, that can be very confronting.”

Jen said she didn’t expect to cry during the series, but a comment from Lizabout her dress left her “a mess”.

“I wouldn’t normally let something like that get to me, but in that situation it really hurt,” she said.

“I don’t care what people think of me, but I was shocked that someone could target someone so blatantly. I was a bit emotional so the girls brought me popcorn. Food always cheers me up.”
