The pregnancy news comes ahead of their second wedding anniversary and they told the Sunday Telegraph it’s a dream come true.
“I’ve never been more nervous yet excited about something in my whole life,” Heinrich said.
“I come from such a close family and I’ve always wanted to be a mum. It’s crazy to think I’ve already fallen in love with someone I haven’t met.”
Actor and chiropractor Robards added: “It is definitely the role of a lifetime. Only this time there’s no audition.
“So you could say, there’s plenty of nervous excitement for the next stage in our lives together and I can’t wait.”
The glamorous couple met and fell in love in 2013 when Robards launched a national search to find the one on the first series of The Bachelor Australia.
Robards, 37, and Heinrich, 33, have lived the fairytale life since, marrying in a lavish European ceremony in 2018 surrounded by family and friends.
In January, Heinrich spoke to the Telegraph about their baby plans.
“That is forefront of our minds for this year,” she said. “It has always been on our mind but we are getting older, not that we are old but we want to have hopefully more than one kid. It is something that we are both very keen on.”
At the time, Robards said he did not want to “be an old dad” and that the couple made the most of their time together with him splitting his time between Sydney and Melbourne, where he shoots Neighbours.
“There is literally one weekend a month where Anna is fertile so we’ve got to keep that in mind.”
Heinrich, 33, and Robards, 37 found love on the inaugural season of The Bachelor in 2013 and tied the knot in a fairytale wedding in Italy five years later.
