Today show host Karl Stefanovic and wife Jasmine Yarbrough are the proud parents of a baby girl born at North Shore Private Hospital.
The couple has named their daughter Harper May Stefanovic.
It’s the couples first child together, with Stefanovic father to three children from his 21-year relationship with ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn.
Just a few days ago, Mara & Mine shoe designer Jasmine shared a happy snap on Instagram declaring the “countdown is on”.
Stefanovic, 45, was on air on the Today show yesterday morning before driving from Nine’s Willoughby studios to the couple’s rented four-bedroom home in Castlecrag and then on to the hospital.
The couple have been tight-lipped about the pregnancy, careful to keep it private although they have confirmed the baby will be a girl.
In an interview with the Telegraph’s Stellar magazine last month, Stefanovic said he is in a good place and looking forward to a second chance at love and parenthood with Jasmine, 36. He is already father to Jackson, Ava and River.
“I’m looking forward to breathing a bit more. I think I’ll be a better parent than I was. You learn how to prioritise moments and I think that’s part of the evolution for a bloke,” he said.
Also in the interview, Stefanovic confirmed the couple took time to conceive and that they had struggled with the public scrutiny.
“We’ve been trying for a bit of time, so it’s beautiful for her,” he said. “She’s been through so much. She’s been pilloried and accused of things that didn’t happen. It’s not her fault she fell in love with bugalugs, and the accusations were wrong about her stealing me from Cassandra. It’s rubbish and it’s hurtful. She’s just a beautiful, sweet woman from Queensland who runs a business and fell in love with me.”
Stefanovic is understood to have had a vasectomy back in 2010 and subsequently had two surgeries to reverse the procedure.
It has been a big year personally and professionally for Stefanovic, who returned to hosting duties on Today in January alongside new co-host Allison Langdon.
Stefanovic was controversially axed from the show just days after his wedding in December 2018. He came under fire at the time for dating a younger woman.
