Award-winning food dishes for just $12! Find out where in Sydney

Good food doesn’t need to be expensive, and the ClubsNSW Perfect Plate Awards aims to show that. Here are the best dishes in the competition under $20.

Award-winning food doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

Burwood’s Coro 88 Club has two dishes in contention for this year’s ClubsNSW Perfect Plate awards, both costing just $12.

Coro 88 was a winner in the Small Club category in 2022, and this year has served up two dishes that delight the tastebuds but don’t break the bank.

Head chef Mark Anthony Dizon, who has worked at fine dining establishments like Franca in Potts Point, has created a seafood mousse with caviar which cost $12, or $10 if you’re a member.

Meanwhile, Dizon’s sous chef, French-born Theo Peron, has created the Paris-Brest dessert which also only costs $12, or $10 if you’re a member. The dessert contains coconut cream, lychee gel, caramelised coconut flakes, lychee puree and Blood Orange tuille.

Anthony Dizon worked on his dish for a year and combined Asian, Middle Eastern and French influences.

“I come from a fine dining background and create dishes at high price points but when I create my own, I wanted to create elegant, stunning dishes that more people can experience because it doesn’t break the bank,” he said.
