SHE’S just appeared in the world’s most stylised and artificial runway parades, however Victoria’s Secret supermodel Kelly Gale much prefers to keep it real.
The 21-year-old, whose father is Australian and mother Indian, has shot a campaign for jeans brand G-Star and camera manufacturer Leica where she appears fresh faced and a far cry from her over the top Victoria’s Secret self.
Gale said in a fake world where photoshopping app’s reign supreme and Instagram filters are used to the max, the G-Star X Leica shoot was refreshingly “real”.
“This is such a different collaboration and I love that I got to do it completely raw and without any make-up, my hair was natural and they aren’t doing any retouching," Gale told Confidential.
“I should love getting my hair and make-up done but I prefer doing stuff as natural as possible.
“There is a lot of fake and retouching in this industry, so it is a nice change for a brand to show something real.”
Gale, who walked for the lingerie giant for the third time this year, said is acutely aware her chosen industry has an expiration date, so has already started plotting life after modelling.
“I love modelling ... but with my name being out there more and more, I want to use that for good,” she said.
“I am trying to work more and more with different charities, both in Sweden and abroad.
“My mum spent five years in an Indian orphanage and all the women on my dads’s side have had cancer, so I am trying to work with different cancer organisations because that is close to my heart.”
“But I also want to help young kids in orphanages in India. It is important to do whatever you can do and with my name growing more and more I want to do whatever I can to help other people.”
