The multiple ARIA Award winning singer has released a children’s album — Nali & Friends — and will hit the road to support the release.

Before then though, the 35-year-old will become a father for the first time with partner Bronnie Jane Lee due to give birth to a daughter in four weeks.

Sultan will play “a couple of gigs” to support the album later this year.

“I can play a big theatre but half an hour singing about farting gorillas and giraffes to little kids is terrifying but exciting,” he said.

The album was inspired by a trip to Africa and features characters including an Arctic Tern named Nali, as well as Bwindi the gorilla, Camilo the armadillo, Ya Ya the panda and Koomba the potoroo.

“Nali was born with a crooked wing and she flies in her own unique way,” he explained. “They are a migratory bird from the north to the South Pole but she gets lost because she does things her own way. She meets mates along the way and makes friends and everyone has something unique about them, something that makes them a little bit different

and special.”
