Aussie music icons share their surprising summer playlists
Ever wondered what your favourite artists listen to in the summer? Hilltop Hoods, Jess Mauboy and Client Liaison have revealed their summer playlists, with some unexpected tracks.

There won’t be time for a summer break for Client Liaison’s Monte Morgan and Harvey Miller.
After wrapping a national tour, the chart topping duo will head into the studio to work on new music over the holidays.
“We’ll be keeping the ball rolling by heading back into the studio,” the pair told Confidential. “Otherwise we’ll be spending as much time by or in the water as possible.”
When it does come to free time in the pool or at the beach, the guys warned fans to wear sunscreen and a hat.
“No one likes looking like a tomato,” they said.
“That aside, you should always wear your bathers (budgie smugglers or one piece) underneath your outfit as you should always be ready to jump into the nearest body of water — pool, lake, spa or beach.”
Client Liaison, along with Jessica Mauboy and the Hilltop Hoods have shared their summer playlists including a diverse range of tracks from artists including Donna Lewis, Morcheeba, George Michael and Paul Mac.
For the Hilltop Hoods, band member Pressure – real name Daniel Smith – included a number of up and coming Australian artists on his playlist including Tones and I and her song, The Kids Are Coming.
“I love that Tones and I ain’t trying to be anyone but herself,” Pressure said. “It is really refreshing to hear such well written tunes from a new artist that is so genuine.”
Meanwhile, Mauboy has recalled the thrill of meeting her idol Mariah Carey, whose track Fantasy is on her Apple Music playlist.
“Mariah is my queen and her tunes are my jam,” Mauboy said. “And yes dreams do come true. Many years later I did meet Mariah backstage at a show and she was everything I hoped she would be — smart, funny, sassy and yes, one fabulous diva.”
Mauboy also included tracks from Jennifer Lopez, Christine Anu, Yothu Yindi, Thelma Plum and Kira Piru.
“These songs remind me of some of the happiest times in my life,” she said.
