Shaking off the haters who have condemned this year’s show for its lack of size diversity, the angels were all smiles at they posed on the pink carpet. There was a distinct Aussie presence with three of the beauties from Down Under who walked in this year’s show, Shanina Shaik, Kelly Gale and Georgia Fowler, attending the VIP event.
Fowler stunned at the official Victoria’s Secret viewing party in New York yesterday.
“I have done the show in Paris and then last year in Shanghai, but there was something about being back in New York which was exciting,” she said.
“We all had lots of friends at the show which was exciting.”
Fowler also had her sister Kate — who split from pub tsar partner Justin Hemmes this year — and mother Kim at the show.
“It was nice to have my family there to support me. We are not often all in the same place at the same time,” she said.
Next year Fowler is keen to try her hand at more hosting in 2019. Already she has begun fronting New Zealand’s Next Top Model and last week she hosted the Australian Fashion Laureate Awards.
This year Australia and New Zealand had its best representation with five women making the cut. Duckie Thot and Alannah Walton also represented Australia at the show which was filmed last month.
When chatting to Confidential Shaik defended Victoria’s Secret which had been criticised for its lack of curvy girls.
“I think that over the years Victoria’s Secret has opened up to more diversity …
“I think we will see more and more in the coming years,” she said.
“The girls who walk for the Victoria’s Secret fashion show work really hard to be their fittest and healthiest.”
Featuring performances from superstars including Rita Ora and Shawn Mendes, the show will air on Network 10 this Friday, December 7.
This year’s show featured some seriously over-the-top looks, with top models Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Adriana Lima — her last show for Victoria’s Secret — all taking to the runway.
