It is Camilla, in Camilla, on the set of one of the biggest TV shows on the planet.
Aussie designer Camilla Franks has filmed a cameo extra role on the Italian set of The White Lotus in Noto and Taormina.
“I love that The White Lotus celebrates style in this magical world that we’d all love to play in – minus the mystery deaths of course,” Franks told The Daily Telegraph, having been in Italy at the time on an inspiration trip for an upcoming collection.
“That inspires viewers to push their own aesthetic further. Take risks, colour the world.”
The episode premiered on Monday, with the series streamed through BINGE in Australia.
Jennifer Coolidge wore five different Camilla looks through season one of White Lotus, which is where the relationship with the production team started.
Camilla’s male fashion label, Hotel Franks, takes centre stage in the new season, worn by actors Bruno Gouery (Emily in Paris) and Paolo Camilli.
“It was like hanging out with old friends,” Camilla explained.
“We share the same pulse. Storytelling is the beating heart of all my collections and my favourite stories come from travel.
“When you take the lesser trodden path and immerse yourself in intoxicating places that flood the senses, your truest self is revealed.
“The White Lotus is the embodiment of all those things.
“A faraway fantasy hotel, a collection of imperfect humans who arrive and leave as different versions of themselves, and the sensuality of language, food, music and exotic landscapes.”
It has been a big year for the Australian label in Hollywood. The brand has also featured in top international shows including Inventing Anna, Gossip Girl, This Is Us and Hacks.
Costume designer Alex Bovaird bought Camilla for the first season of The White Lotus for Coolidge’s character Tanya McQuoid, and carried through the designs into the second season.
“I fell in love with the brand and the lady behind it,” Bovaird told The Daily Telegraph.
“When season two came to be in Sicily, it seemed fitting that we get more of her amazing prints in the mix.
“I found out there was a men’s line and thought this could be the way to go, so we used quite a few fantastic shirts and short-sets.
As luck would have it, Camilla and her incredible team were in Italy at the time so I invited them to be part of the scene. Camilla, in Camilla, on the (set of) The White Lotus. It was an absolute blast.”
