Troye Sivan will take to the stage at the 2025 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras After Party.
While there has been much speculation suggesting the superstar Aussie singer may pop up, Confidential can reveal the Rush hit maker will join American artist Leland at the after-party at the Hordern precinct in Moore Park on Saturday night.
Photographs taken by Confidential show Sivan making his way into the venue for soundcheck on Friday afternoon.
Mardi Gras organisers have not commented, although they have not denied the surprise appearance that was sparked when the lineup listed Leland as headliner to be joined by ‘Friends’.
Speculation continues as to which other ‘friends’ will join Leland, who rose to fame through the RuPaul's Drag Race franchise as resident songwriter and producer on the reality show.
Confidential understands Leland — real name Brett Leland McLaughlin — and Sivan have been working on new music together.
Previous years have seen the likes of Sam Smith, Cher and Dua Lipa perform at the after-party.
Community expectations of a big name performer will now be met by Sivan’s addition to the lineup.
There is also much chatter that Kylie Minogue may just pop up at the after-party.
She copped some backlash when scheduling the first of her two Sydney shows on Saturday night, clashing with the annual parade and after-party that has been running now for 47 years.
Her appearance would most definitely rebuild some goodwill among disgruntled fans disappointed at having to choose between the two major events.
The after-party lineup also includes Honey Dijon, Romy and Cosmo’s Midnight.
