Music duo Peking Duk have added children’s book authors to their resume.

“Everyone is just beautiful the way they are, as corny as that sounds. The book is basically about the fact it doesn’t matter how many followers you have or what you are portraying on your social media account, it is about your real friends and family, the real stuff in life.”
The boys wrote the story with Alex Lehours providing illustrations for the book that is being released through BMG and Penguin.
“It is pretty strange but in a weird way it all makes sense,” he added of writing a kids book.
“There’s a lot of young kids and teenagers who are going through hell, they are depressed. It is all about thinking they are not good enough or not pretty enough and I guess we just want kids to know none of that is real.”
Coming up, Peking Duk are nominated for five ARIA Awards later this month to hopefully add to the two they already own.
“There’s plenty of room at home for more,” Hyde said.
