HE was a standout fan favourite on Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette — but Apollo Jackson has revealed he hasn’t been on a date and struggled to have his career as a magician taken seriously since coming off the show.
Nice guy Jackson, who won almost every heart in the country except Monk’s, said neither his dating life or work life have benefited from the exposure of the Channel 10 reality show.
“I came off the back of it and I messaged every entertainment agency in the country to do with magic there was and no one even sent me a message back or returned my calls so I was back to slogging it out,” he told Confidential.

“I’ve been working 16-17 hour days on all the stuff that I do, I definitely didn't get handed anything off the back of the show. Nothing has come easy at all. I think the most frustrating thing I have encountered is that when I meet people for the first time, they go ‘so do you really do magic and sing or is that just a funny side hobby thing?’ and I’ve been doing this stuff my whole life, it’s my profession.”
Jackson has signed up for a second reality stint though and will enter the spin-off series Bachelor In Paradise tonight for a second shot at love.
“I haven't been on a date at all before going on Paradise,” he said.
