FRESH off the high-fashion catwalks of Paris, Aleyna Fitzgerald’s burgeoning modelling career has taken another surprising turn.
The Australia’s Next Top Model winner is back in Australia, having modelled for the likes of top designers such as Balmain and Dior, and, despite her tender years, the teenager is branching out into bargain bridal wear.
The 17-year-old is helping launch a new range for chain store Forever New, called Ever After, where the most expensive dress costs just $299.99 — the same as a simple T-shirt from French fashion house Balmain.
The former receptionist from country NSW admitted it was a little “surreal” modelling wedding gowns, considering her age.
“I actually wore a Forever New gown to my Year 10 formal,” she said. “But these dresses could also be worn as formal gowns. They are so beautifully made.
“They are young and chic and very flattering.”
Fitzgerald, whose star has been on the rise since she won Australia’s Next Top Model last year, said sometimes she had to pinch herself to make sure the past 12 months weren’t a dream.
“To think about how much my life has changed in a year is surreal,” Fitzgerald said.
“I’ve gone from zero to 100 in a short space of time.
“But I’ve got very supportive family and friends who keep me grounded.”
