Fashion royalty Rey Vakili and Ingham’s Chicken heir Johnny Ingham are engaged.
Saturday Confidential can reveal the high society couple have taken their relationship to the next stage, with Ingham getting down on one knee at Vakili’s Double Bay apartment.
Despite having a multimillion-dollar empire, it was a low-key proposal from a low-key groom-to-be, however the European wedding is expected to be anything but.
Vakili, whose sister is Hoda Waterhouse (married to Tom Waterhouse) and who was once editor-in-chief of American Vogue, Anna Wintour’s personal assistant, has been intent on keeping the proposal on the down-low.
However, friends couldn’t help but notice the enormous diamond rock hanging off of her left fourth finger.
She has also been taking the ring off when promoting her various endorsements on her social media site.
The pair haven’t had time to announce or celebrate their engagement yet, with the couple heading straight to Adelaide post engagement as Vakili had a commitment with Penfolds.
The ‘it’ couple have been dating since 2018, however took time apart not long before reuniting in 2021.
Johnny Ingham, who runs the family business, is the middle born child of the Ingham’s Chicken empire.
His older sister, Tamie, is dating high profile chef Guillaume Brahimi, who are expected to be the next couple to announce their engagement.
With her best friend Jasmine Stefanovic, Tamie Ingham co-founded the shoe brand Mara and Mine in 2010, and Brahimi is close friends with Stefanovic’s husband, Today host Karl.
It is understood they met through the Stefanovics and have been dating since 2020.
