An Australian kelpie dog looks set to star in Hollywood film The Fall Guy alongside Ryan Gosling.

The dog from Krisko Film Animals was spotted on set Monday being walked by Gosling, and later with a handler, and licking the faces of film crew around The Rocks.

The company, directed by Sydney animal trainer Kirstin Feddersen, supplies all manner of animals for locally-filmed TV and film productions, but is yet to respond to The Daily Telegraph’s request for comment on the kelpie’s role.

Kelpies are small but active herding dogs, and the breed is extremely intelligent and energetic.

Gosling, 41, was spotted dressed in costume in a red bomber jacket, T-shirt, and ripped jeans on a blocked off Fort Street, and walking the Kelpie in Dawes Point Park.

An unknown female actor walked beside Gosling with two other dogs. The Daily Telegraph is told they’ll be back there to film on Tuesday.

The Fall Guy is based on the popular 1980s TV series starring Lee Majors, Heather Thomas and Markie Post.

The ABC series ran from 1981 to 1986 and centred on a stuntman who has a side-hustle as a bounty hunter.

In the much-anticipated reboot, slated for release in 2024, the Notebook star is set to play a past-his-prime stuntman working with a movie star, who once replaced him, but has now gone missing.

Gosling, his wife Eva Mendes, and two children Esmeralda, 8, and Amada, 6, are living in Sydney for the next few months while the movie is filmed.

Mendes told The Daily Telegraph last week that both their daughters have picked up “little Aussie twangs” while they’ve been here, and are being homeschooled on Australian history and culture.

UK actor Emily Blunt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who was last seen opposite Brad Pitt in Bullet Train, are the only other cast members who have been announced to date.

However, they are yet to be sighted on our shores.

Other pictures taken at The Rocks on Monday reveal several unknown actors wearing high vis vests, and filming a scene involving a garbage truck.
