Allison Langdon on parenting, baby plans with husband Mike Willesee

Television host Allison Langdon and Mike Willesee have ruled out having any more children. Here is why.

Television host Allison Langdon has ruled out adding to her brood.

Already mother to Mack, three, and Scout, 19 months, the journalist said she and husband Mike Willesee’s family is complete.

“I am 41 and Mike is older,” Langdon said. “There is no way, we have our hands full now with a one and a three year old. I can categorically say absolutely no way jose anymore.”

Langdon will on Wednesday host a free live webinar for Tresillian and Curash from 11am, looking at practical tips to help parents settle in with their babies.

She used Tresillian’s services with her son Mack, as he would wake every 40 minutes through the night.

“We had no idea what we were doing,” Langdon told The Daily Telegraph.

“It is incredibly isolating, especially in those first few weeks at home. I had the benefit of a mother’s group and they have all been cancelled during COVID.”

Langdon continued: “We are incredibly hard on ourselves too. I think we have set a very high standard that is perhaps a little bit difficult to meet at times. You wonder if they are meeting their milestones, are you doing the right thing, are you introducing food at the right point because all the research different things. You constantly query whether or not you are doing the right job and it is only through doing it wrong that you work out what to do to be perfectly honest.”

A key learning for Langdon has been to simply enjoy the moment, even when times are tough.

“If you go through a day and you’re still wearing your pyjamas and don’t have a shower, who cares? Embrace it. If the washing doesn’t get done or the beds don’t get made, who cares? Don’t worry about cooking dinner, order something in or eat a can of soup. Just don’t feel like you’ve got to be the supermum doing everything and that you will have bad days. You have to just roll with it.”
