Former I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! contestant Ajay Rochester is making bombshell claims about the reality show, alleging the eliminations are contractually “fixed”, regardless of who the public vote for.
Rochester entered the South African jungle in 2019, and claims the winners in the popular series are determined before the celebrities even land.
The controversial ex Biggest Loser host, 54, shared the alleged details from her I’m A Celeb contract in a video posted to TikTok.
Without providing any evidence, she claimed fine print in contestant contracts stipulated Channel 10 makes the final decision on the order of elimination in the series, despite the public voting for their favourites. She didn’t share a copy of the contracts with viewers so they could see it for themselves.
“In the contract in tiny little writing it says that Channel 10 can choose to elect a winner regardless of the votes,” Rochester said in the video. “Have you ever noticed that the chef last almost all the way through? The chef that feeds all the people. Have you ever noticed that it’s predominantly Channel 10 talent that make it all the way through?”
Rochester also alleged that the series is weighted in favour of the network’s own talent, and that the chef is allowed to stay on because they are cooking for their fellow campmates.
On Sunday though, roughly half way through the current season, celebrity chef Anna Polyviou was voted off the show.
The shocking claims don’t end there, though.
Rochester added that all the celebrities are paid well to appear on the show, despite the inference that their appearances are donated time, to garner winnings for their chosen charities.
Rochester claimed she signed on for her season so she could afford to apply for permanent residency in the U.S.
“Every single celebrity is getting paid and raising money for a charity,” she said.
Channel 10 has been contacted for comment.
